15286 (2025). Rachel Boyack to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: Has he sought updates from National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee on whether the new draft code will retain or remove previously proposed bans on flank straps, spurs, breakaway roping, and steer wrestling?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I have not sought specific advice on this matter. The National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee is currently reviewing the Code of Welfare: Rodeos. It is preparing a draft code for public consultation, which will be recommended to me in due course.
