15254 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Associate Minister of Education: Were any government agencies consulted on the shortlisted candidates during the procurement process for the Ka Ora Ka Ako; and if so, were any concerns raised?

Hon David Seymour: Reports received from the Ministry of Education show that Government agency feedback about the changes to the Ka Ora Ka Ako programme was gathered from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC), Manatū Wāhine | Ministry for Women, Ministry of Health, Ministry for Pacific Peoples, Ministry for Primary Industries, Ministry of Social Development (MSD), Oranga Tamariki – Ministry for Children, Te Aka Whai Ora | Māori Health Authority, Te Puni Kōkiri, Te Whatu Ora | Health NZ, the Treasury, and Whaikaha | Ministry of Disabled People. Many of these agencies were also consulted during the development of the alternate provision model. The responsibility to proceed to negotiation with the shortlisted companies following the Registration of Interest (ROI) process for the Alternative Provision Model is with the Ministry of Education.
