15226 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Police
Written Question
Published date: 04 May 2026
15226 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Police: What was the composition - in percentage terms - of sources of energy consumed to power or heat buildings, if any, in the Minister’s department’s, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, in 2025?
Hon Mark Mitchell: Corrected reply: I refer the Member to the attached table, which shows the composition of sources of energy consumed to power or heat Police buildings, by fuel type, for the calendar year ending 31 December between 2020 and 2025.
I am further advised that the recorded energy usage in the attached table does not include diesel. Diesel usage is not centrally recorded, as it is procured and used at individual sites on an ad-hoc basis across all Police districts. As this information regarding diesel usage is not held, the time and associated cost in obtaining this information are not, in my view, justifiable.
The Serious Fraud Office does not own buildings, but leases two offices. The SFO does not hold information about how those buildings are powered or heated, or the composition of sources of energy in percentage terms, that can be attributed to the SFO. The Wellington Office, 22 The Terrace, is a 5-star rated building.
This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Questions 15227, 15234, 15243, 15245, 15247, 15549, 15563, 15574, 15575, 15583, and 15592 (2026).
