15178 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What was the composition - in percentage terms - of sources of energy consumed to power or heat buildings, if any, in the Minister’s department’s, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, in 2025?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: I am advised that the sources of energy to power and heat Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) properties in 2024/2025 were: Electricity: 100% of properties; Natural gas: about one-third of properties; Heavy fuel oil: around 0.5% of properties. Note that all but one MFAT property is offshore. For Antarctica New Zealand, in Christchurch sources of energy to power and heat buildings are 100% electricity.
