Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Energy: What was the composition - in percentage terms - of sources of energy consumed to power or heat buildings, if any, in the Minister’s department’s, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, in 2025?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that EECA does not hold any information related to energy sources used to heat occupied building spaces. I am further advised that the Electricity Authority (Authority) occupies a floor in the Aon Building at 1 Willis St, which is run by Precinct. The Authority uses electricity for power. Precinct has informed the Authority that gas is used for heating the building. There is a backup diesel generator used during a mains power outage. The Authority does not hold data on the relative composition of these two sources of energy or whether the backup generator was used.
