15156 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: What was the composition - in percentage terms - of sources of energy consumed to power or heat buildings, if any, in the Minister’s department’s, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, in 2025?

Hon Erica Stanford: I refer the Member to the attached table showing the Ministry of Education, Education Review Office and New Zealand Qualification Authority’s office building energy consumption for financial year 2019/20 to 2024/25. Energy consumed to heat buildings leased by Education New Zealand in New Zealand is primarily natural gas with some electricity used for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The percentage breakdown of energy sources used for heating is not able to be provide in the timeframe available to respond to written parliamentary questions. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 15158, 15162, 15167,15171 and 15176 (2026).
