15151 (2025). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Associate Minister of Education: How many staff, if any, are currently working in Early Childhood Education centres and do not hold a full practicing teacher certificate?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that the 2024 Early Childhood Education census reported 9858 teachers did not hold a practicing certificate with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
