15143 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What work, if any, has been done by NZTA to prioritise and sequence the 17 Roads of National Significance, and what projects, if any, are expected to begin construction first?

Hon Chris Bishop: NZTA prioritised the RoNS projects into three delivery waves when the programme was announced with the intention of wave one being construction ready in the 2024-27 National Land Transport Programme (NLTP) period and the other waves subsequent NLTP periods after. Early enabling works have begun on some projects already such as the Hawkes Bay Expressway Stage 1.
