15117 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Associate Minister of Education: How many meals delivered, if any, have not met the minimum size requirements since the start of the new school lunch programme?

Hon David Seymour: The School Lunch Collective delivers over 110,000 meals daily. It has never been a requirement of the programme that all meals are audited for size and nutrition. All suppliers are expected to meet the nutrition standards as published on the Ministry website, including the size of meals. For the School Lunch Collective, nutritional content and size of meals was assessed at the beginning of the term, and will be monitored and assessed through service agreement reviews and spot checks at kitchens and at schools. Where meals do not pass nutritional assessments, the Ministry will work with suppliers on corrective action to make sure they meet the standards in future. This has been the case in all iterations of the model. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 15118 (2025).
