15097 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many contracts for palliative care services are held by organisations other than hospices?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that in 2023/24, 521 contracts in total were identified as supporting palliative care. Of these, 472 were with organisations other than hospices, such as pharmacies, PHOs, district nursing services and aged residential care facilities. These services help ensure that New Zealanders have access to timely, quality pallitaive care.
