15095 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many children have died in hospitals in each of the last five years?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the number of publicly funded hospital discharges for people aged 0-14 years, where the person was recorded as being deceased at the time of discharge, are as follows:
2018/19 = 285
2019/20 = 262
2020/21 = 308
2021/22 = 309
I am further advised that data for 2022/23 and 2023/24 is not yet available.
