15070 (2025). Rawiri Waititi to the Minister of Corrections: As at 21 March 2025, how many, if any, prisoners over the age of 70 are currently in New Zealand’s prison system, and how many of them are held in high-security units?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that as at 21 March 2025, there were 178 people aged over 70 in Corrections’ custody, six of whom were classified as high security.
