Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Is just one of the 12 "early intervention services", treating teenagers and young people suffering hallucinations, delusions or other symptoms, within the first two years of onset, meeting benchmark of seeing 80 percent of patients before they are hospitalised; if so, why is this?

Hon Matt Doocey: Health New Zealand is working to meet Mental Health and Addiction targets through faster access to specialist services, growing the Mental Health and Addiction workforce and ensuring investment into early intervention and prevention services. I am advised that the First Episode Psychosis Services Fidelity Scale (FEPS) (80% benchmark) is not a Health New Zealand target.
