15029 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Transport: When, in what form, and from whom did Christchurch City Council advise NZTA that it had lost momentum on the Greater Christchurch Public Transport Futures Programme?

Hon Chris Bishop:  I am advised by NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) that at a meeting with NZTA and Environment Canterbury on 9 February 2024, a Christchurch City Council (CCC) staff member noted that CCC had lost momentum in their work on the PT Future Infrastructure Works - Detailed Business Case. They noted it had paused/stopped the work, and that CCC would pursue a low-cost low-risk bid for public transport infrastructure in the 2024-27 National Land Transport Programme.
