Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, if any, open on the week beginning 17 March with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and how many roles were affected?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that an organisational change process commenced consultation on 18 March 2025. The change proposes to disestablish 180 positions (of these 23 are vacant), establish 116 new positions, with a net reduction of 64 positions. A further 315 positions are proposed to have minor changes.
