Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Customs: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, if any, open on the week beginning 17 March with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and how many roles were affected?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that in the week beginning 17 March 2025, the New Zealand Customs Service did not open any consultations with employees regarding any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions. This response is inclusive of the staff of the Border Executive Board Secretariat as these staff are considered employees of the New Zealand Customs Service.
