14667 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Conservation: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, if any, open on the week beginning 17 March with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and how many roles were affected?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation advises me that one new consultation with staff was opened for the week beginning 17 March 2025. The Jobs for Nature Transition Proposal FY25/26 was announced to affected employees on 19 March 2025. The Jobs for Nature Transition Proposal FY25/26 proposes to disestablish 13 fixed term roles and create 7 new fixed term roles, an overall reduction of 5 fixed term roles. These new proposed roles would be fixed term until June 2026, to support the closure of the Jobs for Nature programme.
