Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Vocational Education: How many fulltime-equivalent staff have there been at the six Workforce Development Councils (WDC): Waihanga Ara Rau, Toi Mai, Toitū Te Waiora, Hanga-Aro-Rau, Muka Tangata and Ringa Hora for each year from 2017 to 2025, broken down by individual WDC and year, if any?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I refer the Member to the attached table which notes the fulltime-equivalent staff for each Workforce Development Councils (WDC) from their establishment in 2021 to 31 December 2024. The Tertiary Education Commission does not hold FTE figures for the WDC's outside these dates. In 2025 all WDCs have commenced downsizing their operations in line with the Government’s intended disestablishment of WDCs by the end of 2025.
