Hon Simon Watts: The Charter introduced minimum service quality standards, and the Crown monitor will provide oversight, and enforcement, if necessary, to ensure these standards are met. This provides for a minimum level of service that Aucklanders can expect and a mechanism to hold Watercare to account for its service quality. This set of standards is complemented by a broader range of service quality measures and targets that Watercare will need to report its performance against.
