14585 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: What assurances, if any, can the Minister provide that the Watercare Charter will not lead to hidden fees or additional charges for consumers in the future?

Hon Simon Watts: A key component of the Charter is the revenue cap, which limits the total amount of revenue Watercare can recover from consumers in each financial year. Watercare may earn “other revenue” that is not covered by this cap; however, this revenue cannot be recovered through water charges to Watercare’s consumers.
