Camilla Belich to the Minister for Land Information: What specific directions, guidance, policies, instructions, or procedural changes, if any, has the Minister issued, imposed, or approved for any agencies under their responsibility regarding the handling, processing, or response to Official Information Act requests since 27 November 2023?

Hon Chris Penk: I have not issued, imposed or approved specific directions, guidance, policies, instructions, or procedural changes for Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), with regard to their handling processing or response to Official Information Act (OIA) requests. On occasion, there is contact between my office and LINZ on the most appropriate way to respond to ministerial OIAs which are received by my office. However this is on a case-by-case basis and not applicable to all OIA requests. LINZ may at times share a final response to a departmental OIA with my office for information. However, this is in alignment with section 3.26 (a) of the 2023 Cabinet Manual.
