14127 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Minister for Children: When does the Minister expect to receive the next evaluation report on the government military bootcamp programme, if ever?

Hon Karen Chhour: I have interpreted the Member’s question to relate to written advice about the Military-Style Academy Pilot. In December 2024, it was agreed with Oranga Tamariki that in order to balance the public interest in this matter with the need to protect the privacy and wellbeing of the young people, Oranga Tamariki would provide public updates at appropriate milestones in the programme. I am advised that the draft of the second preliminary evaluation report is in progress and I expect to see a copy soon after that draft is finalised in April.
