14073 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: What was budgeted for the Ministers' departments, if any, for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the 2023/24 financial year and how much was spent?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) do not hold a budget for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the 2023/24 or 2024/25 financial year as they meet the Carbon Neutral Government Programme requirements from existing resources. In 2023/24, DPMC and NEMA commissioned an energy efficiency assessment of Government Houses at a cost of $29,808 excluding GST. DPMC and NEMA share a contract for service with Toitū Envirocare for services to support Carbon Neutral Government Programme reporting. This expires in August 2025 and has an annual cost of $24,092 excluding GST.
