14071 (2026). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Associate Minister for Energy: Which regions, if any, would be first to experience shortages under a fuel supply disruption scenario?
Hon Shane Jones: Fuel disruption impacts can vary depending on local demand, storage levels, transport logistics, and weather or infrastructure conditions. There is no predetermined regional sequence. The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment monitors regional fuel supply conditions in collaboration with fuel suppliers and responds to emerging localised issues as required.
