Hon Shane Jones: The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment is regularly talking to fuel importers through the Fuel Sector Coordinating Entity to understand upstream supply and shipping issues. Fuel companies are not reporting any widespread supply problems, and New Zealand has sufficient fuel stocks at this time. At the same time, the Government is planning for a range of scenarios, including circumstances where global conditions could make future fuel supply more difficult, and is maintaining close monitoring and coordination with industry to ensure New Zealand is prepared if conditions change.
