14038 (2025). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister of Conservation: Has the Minister received any advice regarding the potential impact of biopsy sampling on long-term research into Hector’s dolphin population?

Hon Tama Potaka: I have not received advice regarding the potential impact of biopsy sampling on long-term research into Hector’s dolphin. I understand from the Department of Conservation that it uses biopsy sampling under a Standard Operating Procedure to collect high-quality genetic samples from free swimming dolphins.
