14027 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister of Local Government: Has the timeframe (or milestone dates) for the simplifying local government work programme changed, and if so, what has impacted the change?

Hon Simon Watts: The Department of Internal Affairs received almost 1,200 submissions on the Simplifying Local Government proposal. The Government is considering these submissions before making final decisions regarding the proposal.
