14019 (2026). Georgie Dansey to the Minister for Regulation: If New Zealand were to move from Phase 1 (Watchful) to Phase 2 of the Fuel Response Plan before the Ministry for Regulation’s consultation period closes, would the consultation be immediately closed and superseded by emergency action; and if so, what would happen to the submissions already received?
Hon David Seymour: No – the Ministry for Regulation is always open to receiving regulatory feedback. Fuel related submissions are currently being collected through the Ministry for Regulation’s Red Tape Tipline (Tipline), which is intended to identify any regulatory issues that may warrant review, simplification, or better coordination. The Ministry’s Tipline will remain open throughout any phase of the Fuel Response Plan. Submissions on fuel related matters already received will be processed in the usual way and reported to the Fuel Security Ministerial Oversight Group.
