13998 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What progress has been made, if any, since the Employment Action Plan was published in August 2024 on the Plan's action 1 regarding implementing community-based job coaches for young jobseekers?
Hon Louise Upston: Welfare that Works community job coaching has been implemented through two phases to support young jobseekers to find work. Phase 1 had up to 2,100 placements from September 2024. Phase 2 aims to support up to 4000 placements in 2026 and 6000 placements in 2027. The providers delivering community job coaching are located in the Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, East Coast, Wellington, Canterbury, and Southern regions.
