13994 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What is the target cohort, if any, for the Ministry of Social Development and Employment work check-in for people receiving the Jobseeker benefit for six months, and how many people comprise this cohort as of December 2025?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development that the Kōrero Mahi – Work check-ins are for clients with full-time or part-time work obligations that are reapplying for Jobseeker Support. The cohort of working age Jobseeker Support clients with part/full time work obligations as at end of December 2025 is 132,006, which consists of 123,576 Jobseeker Work Ready and 8,430 Jobseeker Health Condition or Disability clients.
