13984 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What are the essential features of any existing contracts for the delivery of publicly funded elective surgical services that are provided by third parties, such as volume, duration, and timeliness in each instance, tabulated?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand Surgical Panel Agreements do not include commitments to procedure volumes or a contract value. Terms and conditions, including clinical service specifications and performance metrics, are standardised in the contractual agreement, with which both parties are required to comply.
