13980 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Have any issues of non-delivery arisen under contracts for the delivery of publicly funded elective surgical services provided by third parties in the past five years?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that no formal contract disputes have been raised with Health New Zealand. I am further advised that occasional operational issues arise regarding the receipt of patient referrals from Health NZ and the subsequent completion of these referrals in a timely manner by providers. These operational matters are coordinated and managed by the providers and Health New Zealand.
