13971 (2026). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Associate Minister for Energy: Why were the additional minimum stockholding obligations for diesel importers not scheduled to come into force until July 2028 rather than sooner, and was any consideration given to accelerating that timeline following the June 2025 Israel-Iran escalation?
Hon Shane Jones: Fuel importers need time to meet the increased Minimum Stockholding Obligation. 2028 was deemed to be sufficient time to hold additional diesel, including fabricating new tanks where necessary.
