13948 (2026). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister of Finance: What advice, if any, did the Minister request between 12 June 2025 and 28 February 2026 on the implications for New Zealand's fuel security of a potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz?

Hon Nicola Willis: The Treasury publishes a monthly list of titles and dates of advice to Ministers, by the middle of the month after the advice is provided. I refer the member to that list, which can be found here: https://www.treasury.govt.nz/publications/budgets/titles-advice-ministers. A list of briefings and reports received by Ministers in regard to the cross-government response to the conflict in the Middle East will soon be published on MBIE's website (https://www.mbie.govt.nz/about/open-government-and-official-information/release-of-information). It is my view that the application of additional resources to answer this and similar questions now is not a good use of taxpayer funds and therefore not in the public interest.
