13935 (2026). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister of Transport: What contingency planning, if any, exists within the Ministry of Transport for fuel allocation prioritisation during a national fuel shortage, and when was it last updated?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the Ministry of Transport does not hold contingency plans for fuel allocation prioritisation during a national fuel shortage, as this is not within the Ministry’s remit. However, the Ministry of Transport is supporting MBIE as the responsible agency for fuel response planning and the detail of the four phases of the National Fuel Response Plan 2026.
