13922 (2026). Hon Willie Jackson to the Minister for Māori Development: Can he confirm how many restructuring rounds Te Puni Kōkiri has undergone since the current Government took office, and what was the total number of roles disestablished in each round?
Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by Te Puni Kōkiri that five change processes have occurred since 27 November 2023 with the following net position FTE reductions: -Fiscal Sustainability and Effectiveness 2024 (-37.39 FTE) -Governance Puni - Realignment for Strategic Impact (-0 FTE) -Librarian proposal for change (-1 FTE) -Te Ara Whakamua | The Way Forward 2025 (Regions, Governance and parts of Strategy) (-25.75 FTE) -Te Ara Whakamua | The Way Forward 2025 (Strategy and Policy) (-13.15 FTE) I am advised by Te Puni Kōkiri that final decisions are yet to be made on the current change proposal. I am further advised in this same time period, there have been position FTE increases as a result of: -Te Arawhiti transfer of functions to Te Puni Kōkiri (+44 FTE) -Budget 2025 additional funding for Statutory Entities and Appointments (+2 FTE) -increasing permanent resourcing in the Regions puni (+6 FTE) -increasing the FTE of some part time positions (+0.27 FTE).
