13903 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for the Public Service and Digitising Government: Has system leadership for care safety been incorporated into the relevant agencies' Chief Executive's key performance indicators; if not, what performance measures for progressing safety in care will they be held accountable for, if any?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that following the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith based Institutions, the Public Service Commissioner wrote to relevant Chief Executives in February 2025 emphasising their collective responsibility for a credible and effective system response, reinforcing accountability for prioritising and progressing change, and setting expectations of personal and system wide leadership to help prevent future harm in care.
