Hon Shane Jones: MPI anticipates allocating a budget of approximately $26,000 for the 2024/25 financial year to independently verify its carbon emissions data. The lower cost compared to the previous year reflects the improvements made to MPI’s emissions data collection and measurement approaches. Independent verification of MPI’s emissions will provide assurance that reporting is accurate and emission reduction approaches are suitable. Resourcing to implement the programme is funded from MPI’s baseline.
