13879 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: How many bond refund requests, if any, were received and processed by Tenancy Services since 1 December 2025 and what was the total value of those refunds?

Hon Tama Potaka: Since 1 December 2025 to 16 April 2026, Tenancy Services has received 70,083 bond refund requests. Of these, 64,010 have been processed, and the total value of refunds processed to date is $133,591,410. The difference between the number of refund requests received and those processed includes requests that are still in progress, as well as requests where insufficient information was provided for processing and payment to be made. Data Derived Notes: 1. The Number of bond refund requests received since 1 December 2025 by the count of refund requests submitted since that date. 2. The Number of those refund requests that have been processed as requests where refund payment has commenced. 3. Total value of refunds processed as the sum of refund action amounts where payment has commenced (tenant and landlord actually paid combined).
