Hon Paul Goldsmith: As set out in the Public Service Act 2020, the panel must examine applicants for the position and deliberate on which candidate is to be recommended for appointment. Following the deliberations, the Chairperson of the panel must decide which applicant is to be recommended to the Minister for appointment. Jeremy Lightfoot was the candidate recommended by the Chairperson for appointment to the position of Secretary for Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport and Chief Executive, Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport.
