13876 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Prime Minister: What is the total amount, if any, spent on external legal advice or law firms by any agencies under the Minister’s responsibility since 27 November 2023, broken down by firm and purpose?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: As Prime Minister I am responsible for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency is a departmental agency hosted by DPMC. I refer the member to question 212 in the 2023/24 Annual Review for DPMC which includes information on legal expenditure above $100,000 up until 30 June 2024: Annual Review 2023/24. Due to privacy reasons, the specific amounts of some contracts cannot be disclosed. The remaining information is currently not available, my officials are gathering this information as part of the 2025/26 Estimates Examination of Vote Prime Minister and Cabinet, which I anticipate will be available late June 2025.
