13870 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Land Information: What was budgeted for the Ministers' departments, if any, for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the 2023/24 financial year and how much was spent?

Hon Chris Penk: I have been advised that Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) budgeted $80,000 for overall sustainability costs for 2023/24. This includes costs for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme (CNGP), as well as other sustainability initiatives across LINZ. LINZ is unable to provide actual breakdown of the majority of spend for sustainability initiatives as these costs form part of the facilities proactive and reactive maintenance budget. LINZ has, however, spent $6,000 on work for emissions reporting and auditing, as at 24 May 2024, through the Toitū Envirocare programme.
