13822 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Internal Affairs: On how many occasions, if any, since 27 November 2023, has the Minister intervened in, overruled, or influenced a decision made by any agency under their responsibility, and what were the circumstances of each instance?

Hon Brooke van Velden: As the Minister of Internal Affairs, I regularly influence decisions made by agencies under my responsibility where appropriate in my role as Minister. To collate every decision I have made would require a substantial manual collation exercise and divert staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s ruling 210/6, I consider that the time, and hence the expense of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
