13755 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: At what point, if any, does MBIE plan to return to publishing estimates of importer fuel margins publicly on their website?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that MBIE is planning to resume publication of the full series, including for the period when MBIE stopped publishing importer margins. This will be done following the completion of quality assurance checks and appropriate communications and consultation. Updates to MBIE’s plans for resuming the series will be published on the weekly fuel price monitoring webpage (https://www.mbie.govt.nz/building-and-energy/energy-and-natural-resources/energy-statistics-and-modelling/energy-statistics/weekly-fuel-price-monitoring).
