13751 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: What process was followed, if any, for the decision to stop publishing estimates of importer fuel margins on the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment website?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that following the start of the Middle East conflict, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) began closely monitoring the performance of the series to ensure it remained robust and statistically reliable. After a significant reduction in estimated importer margins in the week ending Friday 6 March 2026, a decision was made in consultation with MBIE Fuel Response teams, to temporarily pause publication of the data.
