13745 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Is the Minister considering requiring the Commerce Commission to provide more regular public reporting on fuel importer costs, if not, why not?

Cameron Brewer: On 10 March 2026, my predecessor Hon Scott Simpson wrote to Dr John Small, the Commission Chair, requesting that the Commission increase the frequency of its fuel price monitoring in light of the Middle East conflict. On 11 March 2026, Dr Small provided a response letter to Hon Simpson, advising him that the Commission has increased the frequency of its monitoring and is now publishing weekly fuel price movements on its website.
