Hon Nicole McKee: I expect my officials to provide me with sound, free and frank advice to enable me to make decisions on matters that are within my area of responsibility, to follow my direction on such matters, and to keep me informed, as appropriate in accordance with the “no surprises” principle, on operational matters for which I am not the decision-maker.
