13714 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Conservation: On how many occasions, if any, since 27 November 2023, has the Minister intervened in, overruled, or influenced a decision made by any agency under their responsibility, and what were the circumstances of each instance?

Hon Tama Potaka: My office and the Department of Conservation have clear processes to make decisions in keeping with convention and practice and legislative requirements. This includes compliance with the Conservation Act 1987 and the Wildlife Act 1953. I regularly have free and frank discussions with the Department of Conservation to enable robust decision making and an effective working relationship. It is not in the public interest to collate and provide this information.
