13708 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: What are the specific actions being taken by Kāinga Ora, if any, to achieve asset management savings?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it has implemented a range of initiatives across its repairs and maintenance and retrofit programmes that have driven cost savings. This includes improved upfront decisions about what interventions are needed when, supported by better condition assessments, more focused training and deployment of new technologies (for example drones for roof inspections). Their maturing retrofit programme has also enabled more competitive works tendering.
