13691 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: Is the Minister concerned that 18 councils and three council-controlled organisations recently had their ratings lowered by S&P Global Ratings?

Hon Simon Watts: The issuance of credit ratings is a matter for councils and Rating Agencies and reflects a broad range of factors. I am confident in the government's work to ease pressure on Council Finances, including the transition to sustainable water service delivery models under Local Water Done Well.
